The Sniper 2 is a World War II shooting game set in June 1944 after the Allied landings in Normandy. The beachhead is secure, and the next push into the French countryside begins. The player takes the role of a British Commando sniper supporting the advance.
Each mission gives the sniper a specific job.
Enemy soldiers may need to be eliminated before friendly forces can move ahead. Other objectives involve disrupting German positions, dealing with enemy snipers, or taking out important targets.
The challenge comes from finding those targets before they find you.
Search the Area Before Opening Fire
The Sniper 2 uses two main views.
The normal map view gives a wider look at the mission area. Pressing the space bar switches to the sniper scope, allowing the player to inspect distant windows, fields, buildings, and hiding places more closely.
The mouse moves the aim, while the left mouse button fires.
Careful observation helps because enemy soldiers do not always stand in obvious positions. Some hide behind cover or appear only for a short time.
Looking over the area before shooting can make the mission much easier.
Enemy Snipers Fight Back
Firing the first shot changes the situation.
Enemy snipers can begin searching for the player, and a countdown creates extra pressure. This means shooting at the first soldier you notice is not always the best idea.
Remembering several enemy positions before opening fire can help. Once the shooting starts, the player can move between known targets instead of wasting time searching from the beginning.
Some soldiers also move in and out of cover. Waiting for the right moment becomes part of making an accurate shot.
Check the Mission Before Taking Aim
Pressing M opens the mission information and shows what still needs to be completed.
A stage does not finish just because several soldiers have been hit. The required targets must be removed before the next operation becomes available.
This makes The Sniper 2 more than a simple shooting gallery. Each battlefield works like a visual search puzzle mixed with precision shooting.
Players need to scan the scenery, remember suspicious locations, switch into the scope, fire accurately, and keep track of the mission requirements.
The Sniper 2 keeps its controls straightforward, but the hidden targets and enemy snipers make patience valuable. A player who studies the battlefield first often has a better chance than someone who starts firing as soon as the mission begins.
