Help Oliver Save Christmas

Adventure Elf is a Christmas platform game where Santa has a serious problem. A group of troublesome penguins raids his sleigh and scatters the presents around Kringleville. Oliver the Elf needs to chase them down and recover enough gifts to keep Christmas on track.

The game takes place from a side view. Oliver travels through snowy areas filled with platforms, traps, enemies, and presents. The goal in each mission is not simply to reach the far side of the level. Oliver needs to collect the required number of gifts before the stage can be completed.

That gives players a reason to explore instead of rushing straight ahead.

Run, Jump, and Catch the Penguins

Oliver moves left and right with the arrow keys and jumps with the space bar.

Penguins appear throughout the levels carrying stolen presents. Jumping on them allows Oliver to stop the troublemakers and recover the missing gifts.

The platform layouts also create plenty of danger. A jump that looks easy can lead toward a trap or another enemy. Some surfaces affect how Oliver moves, so players need to pay attention to the ground as well as the platforms above.

Timing becomes more important when several hazards appear close together.

Pick Up Helpful Power-Ups

Adventure Elf includes power-ups that can make Oliver’s job easier.

One useful pickup can provide temporary protection, allowing him to move through dangerous sections with less risk. Other collectibles appear around the stages and reward players who search beyond the most obvious route.

The game also includes bonus rounds between regular missions. These timed challenges focus on gathering as many items as possible before the clock reaches zero.

That change of pace gives players something different from the normal present-recovery stages.

Explore More of Kringleville

Adventure Elf has a bright holiday setting, but the platforming can become surprisingly tricky. Penguins are only one problem. Traps, slippery areas, awkward jumps, and other hazards can quickly cost Oliver a good run.

Learning the layout helps. A failed attempt can reveal where a penguin appears or where a dangerous section begins.

Adventure Elf keeps its story simple and easy to follow. Santa loses the gifts, Oliver goes after them, and the penguins make the rescue much harder than expected.

The combination of present collecting, platform jumping, enemies, power-ups, bonus rounds, and the snowy Christmas theme gives Adventure Elf the feel of a complete holiday adventure rather than a short one-screen mini-game.
