A Pig Soldier on a Rescue Mission
Hambo is a puzzle shooting game about a tough pig soldier armed with a collection of weapons. Hambo and his friend Bacon return from battle, but things do not stay peaceful for long. Bacon gets captured, leaving Hambo to fight through a series of stages and rescue his friend.
The Flash version contains 36 levels. Each stage places Hambo, enemy pigs and different objects around a fixed area. Hambo cannot simply walk across the screen and attack everyone at close range. You need to work out how each weapon can reach the enemies.
This makes Hambo more of a shooting puzzle than a normal action game.
Some enemies stand in clear positions. Others hide behind walls or objects. Direct shots do not always work. You may need to use the surroundings or find another way to send the attack toward the target.
Aim Before You Fire
The mouse controls the main action. Click and hold to charge a shot. Release the mouse button to fire.
The amount of power matters. A weak shot can fall short. Too much force may send the weapon beyond the place you want to hit. The correct angle also changes from one level to another.
Hambo carries several types of weapons. Players can use number keys from 1 to 6 to switch between available choices. Different weapons create different solutions. The best answer may involve more than pointing straight at an enemy.
Pressing R restarts a level. This comes in handy when a shot goes wrong or you want to try a different approach.
Clear Every Pig From the Level
The main goal is simple. Defeat all enemy pigs to complete the stage.
The way you reach that goal keeps changing. Walls can block shots. Objects can affect where weapons travel. Some situations need careful use of angles. A level that looks impossible at first can become simple once you notice the correct shot.
Hambo also includes a level creation feature. Players can build their own challenges instead of relying only on the main set of stages.
The mix of cartoon pigs and powerful weapons gives Hambo a silly appearance, but its puzzles reward careful thinking. Random firing wastes shots and often fails. Studying the level first gives better results.
Hambo works best when players treat each stage as a small problem. Look at every enemy, check the available weapons and decide how each shot can help. The controls stay simple while the level layouts provide the real challenge.
