Another Big Bicycle Adventure
Cyclomaniacs 2 takes the bicycle racing idea from the first game and builds a much larger adventure around it. Cyclo King sets out to rescue Princess Jennifer after the original Cyclomaniacs become ninjas and take over a strange ninja theme park.
The setting gives the game plenty of unusual places for races and challenges. Players travel through 39 tracks while working toward new riders, upgrades and hidden content. The game includes 50 riders to unlock, which gives players a large collection of characters to work toward.
Each race combines speed with careful bike control. Hills and jumps can throw riders into the air. Players need to adjust the bicycle before touching the ground. Landing badly costs speed and can quickly change the race position.
Racing Controls and Bunny Hops
The Up arrow or W key accelerates the bicycle. Down or S applies the brake. Left and Right change the bike’s angle. Players can also use A and D for the same movement. Pressing X or Space performs a bunny hop.
These controls become more important as the tracks grow harder. Some sections reward full speed. Other areas need more control. A player who learns how the bike moves over hills can keep momentum through sections that slow down less experienced riders.
The game also allows upgrades. Improving different parts of the rider’s abilities helps during races and adds another layer of progress.
Hidden Games and Plenty to Discover
Cyclomaniacs 2 does not limit the adventure to normal races. Hidden minigames appear as players explore the game. These activities offer different challenges and can help unlock more characters.
Some minigames have their own upgrades. These improvements change what players can do during those smaller challenges. This gives the upgrade system a purpose outside the main bicycle events.
Secrets also appear throughout the game. Players who only rush through the races can miss some of the extra content.
Cyclomaniacs 2 has a playful story and plenty of strange characters, but the bike handling still requires good timing. Winning races becomes easier after learning how to balance in the air and carry speed through hills. With 39 tracks, 50 riders, minigames and hidden surprises, the game gives players many goals beyond reaching the finish line.
