Build an Army and Protect Your Castle
Heroestick is a side-scrolling strategy game where stick armies fight for control of a fantasy world. The player leads humans, witches, giants, and other units into battle. The main task is to protect your own castle while building enough strength to destroy the enemy side.
The fighting takes place across a wide battlefield. Soldiers move toward the opposing army after they enter the field. The player does not swing every sword by hand. Most of the work comes from managing resources and choosing which units should join the fight.
Heroestick also includes different campaigns and game modes, which gives players more than one set of battles to work through.
Gold and Food Keep Everything Running
Every soldier needs resources.
Miners collect gold while other workers provide food. These supplies pay for new troops, upgrades, and useful power-ups.
Sending soldiers too quickly can empty the available supplies. Once that happens, replacing defeated units becomes difficult.
Waiting too long creates another problem. Enemy fighters continue moving while the player builds resources.
A good approach is to keep workers active while producing enough combat units to hold the battlefield.
Choose From Several Unit Types
Heroestick includes different kinds of fighters. Human warriors provide regular fighting power. Archers attack from a distance. Witches use ranged attacks, while giants bring much greater strength into a battle. Zombies also appear among the available forces and game mechanics.
Different units can help in different situations.
A group of cheaper soldiers may hold the line while the player saves resources for something stronger. A powerful unit can then join the army and help break through a difficult enemy group.
Upgrades allow useful troops to become stronger as the campaign continues.
Control the Battle With Simple Keys
Most actions use the mouse. The player can create units, manage resources, and buy improvements through the game interface.
A and D or the left and right arrow keys scroll across the battlefield. Number keys 1 through 6 and the QWERTY keys provide shortcuts for releasing units.
Heroestick keeps the controls simple, but winning still needs planning. Players need enough workers to support the army and enough fighters to stop the enemy.
The stick figures may look basic, yet the battle can become busy once several unit types meet in the middle. Heroestick works best when the player builds resources first, improves useful troops, watches both castles, and chooses the right moment to send a larger army forward.
