Take Part in a Dangerous Wartime Mission

Battle of Britain: Commando is a side-scrolling shooting game set during World War II. German forces are trying to gain control of the English Channel and open the way for an attack on Britain. The player takes control of an Allied commando who needs to fight through enemy positions and complete a series of dangerous missions.

The action starts quickly. Enemy soldiers appear along the route and try to stop the commando before he reaches the end of the stage.

The game has a fast arcade style. Instead of spending a long time planning each move, the player runs, jumps, aims, and shoots while pushing forward through enemy territory.

Move, Crouch, and Keep Firing

The keyboard handles movement.

W makes the commando jump. A and D move left and right. S allows him to crouch when the situation calls for it.

The mouse controls the weapon. Moving the pointer changes the direction of the aim, while clicking fires at enemy soldiers.

This setup allows the player to move in one direction while shooting somewhere else. That becomes important when enemies appear from higher positions or attack from different parts of the screen.

Standing still for too long can make the commando an easy target.

Use Grenades Against Difficult Positions

Normal gunfire handles many enemies, but grenades give the player another option.

The Space bar throws a grenade. These explosives are useful when several soldiers gather close together or when an enemy position becomes difficult to approach safely.

Grenades should still be used with some thought. A well-timed throw can make a hard section easier, while wasting them can leave fewer options later.

The game keeps the controls simple enough that players can focus on what is happening around the character.

Complete One Mission After Another

Battle of Britain: Commando is divided into missions rather than one endless battlefield.

Each mission asks the player to survive enemy attacks and continue toward the objective. Reaching the next area means facing more soldiers and another test of movement and shooting.

The game also offers three difficulty choices: Easy, Medium, and Hard. New players can start with the easier setting, while experienced players can increase the challenge.

Push Through the Enemy Lines

Battle of Britain: Commando combines platform movement with constant shooting action. The player needs to jump over obstacles, crouch when needed, aim carefully, throw grenades, and keep moving through hostile areas.

Its straightforward controls make it easy to begin, but harder settings demand quicker reactions and better aim.

The main objective remains clear throughout the game: survive each mission, defeat the enemy soldiers blocking the way, and help stop the attempted invasion.
