The Start of the Wild Bicycle Racing Series
Cyclomaniacs is a side-view bicycle racing game filled with hills, jumps, unusual riders and challenging tracks. Players compete against a group of strange characters while trying to reach the finish line in a strong position. The game combines racing with bike balance and jumping, so speed alone does not guarantee a good result.
There are 26 tracks and 20 riders to discover. Each racer has a different appearance and bike. Unlocking new characters gives players another goal as they move through the game.
The tracks contain slopes and obstacles that can send a bicycle into the air. Players need to control the bike during these jumps. Landing correctly keeps the rider moving. A poor landing can slow the bicycle down and allow other racers to pass.
Simple Keys With Plenty to Learn
The arrow keys or W, A, S and D control the bike. Players can accelerate, brake and change the rider’s balance. The X key or Space makes the bicycle perform a bunny hop.
A bunny hop helps in several situations. It can prepare the rider for obstacles and give more control around uneven parts of a course. Learning when to jump becomes important on harder tracks.
Cyclomaniacs also includes a starting trick known as the Sneaky Start. Players can gain an early advantage by timing the accelerator correctly before the race begins. Small skills like this become useful when trying to improve results.
Achievements and Things to Unlock
The game includes 70 achievements. These goals give players reasons to try different actions and return to earlier races. There are also 20 bike horns to collect. A horn can be used during a race once the player has one equipped.
Cyclomaniacs has a light and silly style, but the racing still rewards practice. Players gradually learn how much to tilt during jumps, when to slow down and where a bunny hop helps most.
The wide range of riders adds personality to every event. Instead of racing against a group of identical cyclists, players meet a collection of unusual competitors. The combination of racing, unlocking characters and completing achievements gives Cyclomaniacs much more to explore than a simple race to the finish.
