X-Play
X-Play is a pixel-style fighting game where you take control of a tough character and battle dangerous enemies before they can take over the world. The action takes place on streets filled with hostile fighters, and your job is simple: keep moving and defeat every threat that gets in your way.
Unlike shooting games with a large collection of weapons, X-Play focuses on close-range fighting. Your character relies on punches and kicks, so getting the distance right matters. Walking straight into a group of enemies can quickly drain your health. You need to move around them and attack when you have a good opening.
Punch and Kick Your Way Through the Streets
The controls are easy to learn. The arrow keys move your character in four directions. Press A to punch and S to kick.
Having two attacks gives you some choice during a fight. Punches provide a quick way to strike nearby enemies. Kicks offer another attack when you need to keep the pressure on an opponent.
Movement plays an important role because enemies do not simply wait for you. You can step around the fighting area and change your position before attacking again.
The game uses an old-school pixel art style. Streets, houses, sidewalks, characters, and objects all use chunky retro graphics that fit the arcade-like combat.
Watch Your Health During a Fight
Taking hits reduces your health, but X-Play gives you a strange way to recover it. Radioactive Dik-Diks appear during the game. Defeating them restores some of your lost health.
That creates an extra decision during battle. An enemy may remain nearby while your health starts running low. Finding and defeating a radioactive Dik-Dik can give you enough health to continue fighting.
You still need to avoid unnecessary damage. Recovering health helps, but allowing several enemies to surround your character can put you in trouble fast.
X-Play keeps its fighting system simple. There are no long button combinations to memorize. Move with the arrow keys, choose between punches and kicks, watch the health bar, and clear the enemies blocking your path.
The simple controls make X-Play easy to start, while positioning and health management give you more to think about once several opponents enter the fight.
