Join a Citywide Skateboarding Contest

Kappa Mikey: Tokyo Skate Jam is a single-player skateboarding game based on the animated series Kappa Mikey. Ozu arranges a competition across Tokyo as a publicity event for LilyMu. The player chooses a member of the LilyMu cast and helps the team impress the watching judges. Mikey Simon, Gonard, Lily, and Mitsuki appear as playable skaters. Each character has the same basic abilities, so the choice mainly changes the character shown during the run.

Skate and Perform Tricks

The arrow keys control the skater’s movement. Hold the Spacebar to perform a trick while travelling across a ramp or through the air. A trick only earns a reward after the character lands safely. Crashing before the wheels touch the ground removes the chance to collect sushi from that move.

Players should begin with short tricks and learn how long each jump lasts. Holding the trick button for too long may leave the skater in a poor position for landing. Small moves work well on low ramps. Taller jumps give more time for impressive actions.

Collect Enough Sushi

Successful tricks reward the player with sushi. Each stage contains a required amount that must be collected before the next area opens. Rails provide another way to earn sushi. Landing on a rail starts a grind and can add more rewards to the total.

The game includes four main locations. The competition begins at LilyMu Studios and continues through Tokyo Park and Tokyo Streets. The final skating area takes place on a Tokyo rooftop. Each stage features a different sushi character connected with the level.

Avoid Dangerous Obstacles

Logs, oily floors, sharp objects, and other hazards appear along the courses. Players need to jump over them or steer toward a clear part of the path. Repeated crashes make Ozu increasingly angry and can end the attempt.

Kappa Mikey: Tokyo Skate Jam rewards controlled movement instead of constant trick attempts. Watch the path, use ramps for safe jumps, grind along rails, and complete each stunt before landing. Collecting all the required sushi lets the LilyMu team continue through the Tokyo competition.
