Roll Fast and Fix Your Mistakes

Nimball: Rewind is a skill-based platform game where the player guides a mechanical ball through twisting courses filled with ramps, jumps, obstacles, and dangerous sections. The goal in every stage is simple: reach the exit as quickly as possible. The challenge comes from keeping the ball under control while carrying enough speed to make difficult jumps and climb curved sections.

There are 30 levels to complete. Each course gives the player another layout to learn, and finishing safely is only the beginning. Faster completion times become an important part of the game as players learn the best route through each stage.

Build Speed Without Losing Control

The arrow keys or W, A, S, and D control the ball. Up or W can also be used for jumping. Movement feels strongly connected to momentum, so simply holding one direction is not always enough.

Curved surfaces can help the ball build speed. That extra momentum may be exactly what is needed to clear a gap or reach a higher platform. Entering the same curve badly can instead send the ball toward an obstacle.

This creates a nice balance between speed and control. A careful player can finish the level, while a confident player can search for a quicker and smoother route.

Rewind Time Instead of Restarting

The most unusual feature in Nimball: Rewind is right in the title.

Holding the Space bar rewinds time. If the ball misses a platform, falls into danger, or makes a poor turn, the player can reverse the action and try that section again.

Rewinding does not make speed runs completely free of mistakes. Time still matters, so relying on the rewind too often can hurt the final result. The better goal is to use it as a correction tool while gradually learning to complete the course cleanly.

This makes failure feel less frustrating. Instead of restarting a full level because of one bad jump near the end, the player can roll time backward and correct the mistake.

Unlock the Challenge Version of a Level

Nimball: Rewind includes two main modes called Trial and Challenge.

Trial mode lets players learn the regular stages and work toward good completion times. Finishing a level quickly enough can unlock its Challenge version.

Challenge play puts more attention on improving performance. The game also includes a ghost replay, allowing players to compare a new attempt with an earlier run. This makes it easier to see where a little time can be saved.

Hidden shortcuts and secrets add another reason to study each course instead of always following the most obvious path. A route that looks longer at first may contain a faster way through once the player understands the stage.

Learn the Course and Chase a Faster Time

Nimball: Rewind works well because the main objective never becomes complicated. Roll toward the exit, keep your momentum, jump at the right moment, and rewind when a mistake ruins the run.

The deeper challenge comes from trying to do all of that faster.

A first attempt may involve several rewinds and careful movement. After learning the curves and hazards, the same stage can turn into a much smoother run. Finding shortcuts, controlling momentum, and reducing mistakes slowly turns an awkward route into a fast one.

With 30 stages, two modes, hidden routes, ghost replays, and the ability to reverse time, Nimball: Rewind gives players plenty of reasons to replay completed levels instead of simply reaching each exit once.
