Turn Simple Addition Into a Fast Puzzle
Zerosum is a number-based puzzle game that mixes addition with match-three gameplay. The board is filled with numbered blocks, and your goal is to create groups of at least three matching numbers in a horizontal or vertical line. The unusual part is how you make those matches. Instead of swapping two blocks, you move one numbered tile into a neighboring tile and add their values together.
For example, moving a 3 into a 4 creates a 7. The game also has a special rule for totals above nine. Only the final digit remains, so combining 7 and 8 creates 5 instead of 15. This small rule opens up many different ways to build matching numbers.
Zero Is a Useful Number
Zero blocks have an important role in Zerosum. A zero can match with any number, which makes it useful when you need to finish a group or create a larger chain.
This means a zero should not always be used as soon as it appears. Keeping one in a useful part of the board can make a later move much easier.
New numbered blocks enter the board as you play. A list shows upcoming numbers, giving you a little information about what will appear next. Your supply is limited, so making regular matches matters if you want the game to continue.
Build Matches to Stay Alive
Successful matches reduce the Extend meter. Emptying that meter adds more blocks to your available supply and gives you more time to keep playing. As the levels increase, earning another extension becomes harder.
There is also a Burst meter. Filling it activates Burst Mode, where connected matching blocks can clear even when they are not arranged in a straight row or column. This creates a good opportunity to make bigger combinations.
Special Blocks Add New Problems
Later play introduces special tiles. Metal blocks keep their number, ice blocks need nearby matches to thaw them, and another type changes its number as turns pass.
Zerosum starts with basic addition, but the board quickly becomes a planning challenge. You need to watch the numbers, think about future matches, use zeros carefully, and make decisions before the move timer runs out. The simple mouse controls make the game easy to start, while the changing board gives experienced players plenty to think about.
