Defending the Bottom of the Screen
Zany Attack is a simple space shooting game inspired by classic alien attack games. You control a small craft near the bottom of the screen. Strange enemies appear above and fire lasers toward you.
Your task is to destroy the attackers before their shots hit your craft. Press the left arrow key to move left. Press the right arrow key to move right. Use the space bar to fire your laser. The enemies can also shoot, so staying in one place creates an easy target.
The controls take only a moment to learn. The harder part comes from watching enemy fire while aiming your own shots.
Finding Gaps Between Laser Shots
Moving all the time does not always keep the craft safe. A player who rushes from one side to the other may move straight into a laser. Short movements give better control.
Watch the empty spaces between incoming shots. Move toward a safe gap and fire whenever an enemy lines up above the craft. A missed shot is not a major problem, but firing without aiming can distract you from the next attack.
The enemies sit above the craft, so upward shots travel in a straight direction. Moving under a target before pressing the space bar improves accuracy.
Clearing the Attackers
Zany Attack focuses on quick reactions. Each enemy removed leaves fewer lasers on the screen. Taking out an attacker can create more room to move, but aiming at one target for too long may allow another shot to reach your craft.
The game works well for short rounds. There are no long menus or complicated commands. The action begins with movement and laser fire.
Young players can learn how to move and shoot. More skilled players can work on timing and safe positioning. The simple design also makes mistakes easy to understand. A hit often comes from standing still, moving too far, or watching the wrong part of the screen.
Zany Attack keeps its goal direct. Dodge the enemy lasers and fire back until the strange attackers disappear.
