Choose Which Side of the Chase You Want to Play
Tom and Jerry in What’s the Catch? is an arcade game based on the famous cartoon rivalry between Tom the cat and Jerry the mouse. Instead of giving both characters the same challenge, the game lets you choose between two different styles of play.
Playing as Tom puts you inside the house while Jerry causes trouble above him. Playing as Jerry turns the game into a fast running challenge where the little mouse needs to stay ahead of Tom.
Save the Dishes as Tom
Tom’s challenge is all about catching.
Jerry runs above him and knocks plates and glasses down toward the floor. Tom needs to move into the correct position and catch the falling dishes before they smash.
Missing one dish is not the end.
Missing three is.
After three plates or glasses break, Tom gets blamed for the mess and the round ends.
The challenge becomes harder once several objects start falling in different places. Moving too far toward one dish can leave Tom badly positioned for the next one.
Staying alert and making smaller corrections can work better than rushing wildly from side to side.
Run From Tom as Jerry
Choosing Jerry gives you a completely different game.
Jerry runs through the house while Tom chases him. Obstacles appear along the route, and you need to jump over them at the correct moment.
A single click makes Jerry jump. A double click can produce a higher jump in versions using mouse controls. Cheese appears during the run and can be collected for extra points.
Jerry can only make a limited number of mistakes. Getting hit three times allows Tom to catch him and ends the attempt.
Two Characters Create Two Different Challenges
The best part of What’s the Catch? comes from how differently Tom and Jerry play.
Tom needs to read where objects are falling and move into position. Jerry needs to look forward, react to hazards, and decide when collecting cheese is worth the risk.
That gives the game more variety than a single endless chase.
The familiar cartoon setting also makes every mistake easy to understand. Broken dishes are bad news for Tom. Running into obstacles gives Tom a chance to catch Jerry.
Tom and Jerry in What’s the Catch? keeps the controls easy enough for younger players while still rewarding better reactions.
Choose Tom when you want a catching challenge. Choose Jerry when you want to run and jump through the house. Either way, quick timing and careful movement matter more than complicated controls.
