About Bubbul

I’ve been playing Bubbul lately, and it’s got this charming mix of simplicity and cleverness that really stuck with me. You control this little bubble named—surprise—Bubbul, and your goal is to drift, bounce, and inflate your way through a series of ever-more-inventive puzzle rooms. The physics feel spot-on: too much air and you’ll zip off the screen, too little and you’ll flatten under a stray gust of wind. It’s all about finding that sweet spot of buoyancy so you can reach switches, dodge obstacles, or trigger hidden platforms.

What makes Bubbul stand out is its art style—it feels like a watercolor dream. Every level looks hand-painted, with soft gradients and dewy highlights that make the whole world feel alive. Bubble trails shimmer in rainbow hues, and each environment (from sunlit meadows to misty caverns) has its own personality. Even when you get stuck, it’s hard to feel frustrated, because the soundtrack is so mellow you almost don’t mind pausing to think through a tricky jump or timing puzzle.

The gameplay slowly introduces new mechanics: sticky bubbles that cling to surfaces, icy sections where you slide instead of float, and gusty fans that can be your best ally—or your worst enemy. There are optional collectibles tucked away in tight corners, so if you’re a completionist you’ll find yourself experimenting with every bubble type and curious crevice. A later update even added a two-player mode, which turns the levels into cooperative chaos, as you and a friend send bubbles bouncing at each other to solve synchronized puzzles.

All in all, Bubbul feels like that cozy side project you lose hours in without realizing it. It’s easy to pick up, but it’ll surprise you with just enough challenge to keep your brain buzzing—and your heart feeling light. Whether you’re in the mood for half an hour of casual drifting or a full afternoon of unraveling clever setups, it’s a little pocket of joy that’s hard to beat.
