You’re basically dropped into this blocky-looking, post-apocalyptic world, and it’s swarming with the undead. Your main mission is to drive your vehicle like a maniac, plowing through zombies, dodging all sorts of wrecked obstacles, and just trying to make it to the end of each stage in one piece. It’s a cool mix of driving action and shooting, so things stay pretty exciting. And, of course, you can soup up your ride with better weapons and tougher armor to handle the gnarlier challenges that come your way.
The game gives you a few different vehicles to unlock and drive, and each one feels a bit different and has its own pluses and minuses. As you push further into the game, you’ll find yourself up against way more zombies, and the roads get even more cluttered, so you really have to be smart about how you use your car’s abilities – and your ammo! Oh, and keep an eye on your fuel gauge; running out of gas in the middle of a zombie horde is, predictably, a very bad time. The whole blocky art style gives it a pretty unique look, and the crunching sound effects when you hit things definitely add to the chaos.
